Bjièn bv processes personal data in compliance with this privacy statement. We value your privacy and want to protect the data we process by using and adhering to this policy. If a newer version of this privacy policy is published, the old one expires.

Processing purposes
Bjièn bv collects and processes based upon these grounds of processing:
- Prospects and customers’ personal data for prospection, customer and retention management purposes including customer administration, tracking orders/agreements, invoicing, solvency monitoring, profiling and sending marketing and personalised advertising.
- If you give us your business card, we see this as consent, but we will only use it for the intended purpose.
- Posting comments on articles will be processed through consent.
- Meeting slots booked are processed on a consent basis.
- All other processing activities are based on consent unless stated otherwise.
In agreement with GDPR, 2016/679, regulations, this document serves as a guideline to inform you of your rights and how your data is used.
Processing activities
Website
Through the general contact forms on the website, we process your:
- name,
- company,
- company address (street, number, city, country),
- professional email address,
- professional phone number,
- function title,
- messages.
We save this data for as long as the request is relevant, and it will be deleted as soon as it is no longer relevant. If you want to see your data deleted sooner, please contact us, as described in this policy.
Booking meeting slots
Through Calendly, we process your:
- name,
- professional email address,
- professional phone number,
- company,
- subject of meeting,
- timeslot,
- additional information related to the meeting.
We save this data for as long as the request is relevant, and it will be deleted as soon as it is no longer relevant. If you want to see your data deleted sooner, please contact us, as described in this policy.
Business cards
If you gave us your business card, we have put the following information in our CRM:
- name,
- company,
- company address (street, number, city, country),
- professional email address,
- professional phone number,
- function title,
- where we met you and your company,
- messages.
This data will stay in our CRM for two years after our last contact. The card in itself will be shredded as soon as it is put in the CRM. If you want to see your data deleted sooner, please contact us, as described in this policy.
Articles
When you subscribe to stay up to date about new articles or comment on them, we’ll process your:
- name,
- email address.
This information is required to contact you when new articles are published. When you subscribe, you’ll get a notification through email. This data is kept until you would unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe through a link in the email sent to you or by contacting us.
Customer and services-related
Bjièn collects and processes the following data from (potential) customers and/or its staff:
- name,
- company,
- company address (street, number, city, country),
- professional email address,
- professional phone number,
- function title,
- LinkedIn profile URL,
- where we met you and your company,
- messages,
- all information related to research and development,
- all information related to prospection and agreements.
In this case, Bjièn acts as a controller. This information is required to improve our services, contact you and fulfil the agreement between you and Bjièn. Personal data processed for customer management will be stored for the time necessary to satisfy legal requirements (in terms of bookkeeping, among others).
You indemnify Bjièn against all claims from third parties with regard to the Agreement between Bjièn and you and/or the data processed by you under the Agreement that may be instituted against Bjièn due to a failure to comply with Bjièn’s attributable violation of the Personal Data Protection Act and/or other legislation regarding the processing of personal data. Bjièn is not responsible for the content and correctness of the personal and other data that you provide her with.
Transfer to third parties
Should this be necessary in order to achieve the stated objectives, the customer’s personal data will be shared with other companies within the European Economic Area that are directly or indirectly connected to Bjièn bv or with any other partner of Bjièn bv.
Bjièn bv guarantees that these recipients will take the necessary technical and organisational measures for the protection of personal data.
Right to inspection, improvement, deletion, limitation, objection and transferability of personal data
You – the data subject – are at all times entitled to:
- Inspect your personal data.
- Have it rectified by us. You can only correct the personal data of other people if you have a signed authorisation to do so. We will contact you once this request has been executed.
- Have it removed by us. We will only delete your data if this is possible. We can delete information requests even if the request is still ongoing. This will halt your information request.
- Restrict its processing and object to the processing of personal data involving them based on Article 6.1 (e) or (f), including profiling based on these provisions. If you withdraw your consent, we will also delete your data in our possession where possible.
- Obtain a copy (in a structured, standard and mechanically readable form) of their personal details and have said personal details forwarded to another company.
All requests can be addressed to info@bjien.be or dpo@bjien.be. We ask you kindly to mail from the e-mail address that we have in our possession. If that is impossible, please provide a picture of only the front side of your ID card. We do this to prevent unauthorised access. Once the request is fulfilled, your mail with the picture of your ID card will be removed.
Complaints
Even though we kindly ask you to contact us first, all complaints can be filed with the Belgian Privacy Protection Commission on https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be/ – 35 Rue de la Presse, 1000 Brussels – commission@privacycommission.be.
