We’ve been cooking something over the past weeks.
Amidst the rise of many new meetup groups and communities tailored to specific profiles and roles in tech, we decided it’s time to launch a community intended to discuss breaking these (and other) silos.
Introducing: Breaking the Silos. Our goal is to build a community of like-minded organisations, leaders, and people who want to break siloed thinking and approaches within Belgian tech companies and improve collaboration.

Join us to learn how to make change happen in your company or teams and meet people sharing the same values. “Us”, being Bjièn owners Daphné De Troch and Dietrich Moerman, along with Patrick Van Renterghem of IT Works Belgium, Leon Vliegen of Fly Consult, and Jaco Van Laere.
The first meetup has been scheduled on neurodiversity (ADHD, ASD, and more), featuring four live keynotes. Join us for free - and for the first time - on Tue, 28 Jun 2022, at 7:00 PM in the Teamleader offices in Ghent. Food and drinks will be available.
More information and RSVP is available on Meetup.com.
Update: also read the press release (Dutch) on HLN.be.
Daphné learned how to create a safe work environment for and lead a team of neurodivergent people, after she was diagnosed with ADHD and ASD. She started Bjièn with Dietrich to help other leaders and teams embrace neurodiversity and make their workplace neuroinclusive. — More about Daphné
Dietrich is a software engineering expert turned neurodiversity consultant and trainer. He learnt the power of psychological safety and limiting cognitive load while leading software development teams, gradually discovering the values for his own ADHD and autistic brain.
